Huaxia Orchestra from Henan Museum of China and the Shaolin Temple Kung Fu Team

The Southern Oregon Chinese Cultural Association (SOCCA) presented, as the first cultural program of the year, the Huaxia Orchestra from Henan Museum of China and the Shaolin Temple Kung Fu Team.

The Henan Museum, founded in 2000, is engaged in the protection, research and exhibition of Chinese music and ancient instruments. In this performance, ancient music scores were played on replicas of actual instruments unearthed from ancient tombs including bone flute, pottery and chime bells. The troupe’s Ashland performance was co-sponsored by Southern Oregon University and the Ashland Chamber of Commerce. See photos from the event!
